Jennifer Schmack joined Fluvanna County as Economic Development Director in 2021, bringing extensive experience from Suffolk and Albemarle County. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute, she works closely with businesses, partners, and community stakeholders to support local growth. Jennifer is committed to fostering new opportunities while honoring Fluvanna’s heritage and rural identity.

Tourism Specialist
Elyse Wood serves as Fluvanna County’s Small Business Development and Tourism Specialist within the Economic Development Department. A longtime Fluvanna resident, she brings extensive experience in real estate, digital marketing, and community engagement. In her role, Elyse supports local businesses, entrepreneurs, and tourism partners through business development programs, marketing initiatives, and community events. She is dedicated to fostering local growth and promoting Fluvanna as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.
